Birdwatching Group Welcomes New Members
21st January 2023

After a couple of years of uncertainty, the birdwatching group has this year got a plan in place for monthly outings.
The group meets on the fourth Wednesday of the months February to November to visit an area known to offer interesting habitats for woodland and water birds. These include local parks and rivers, country parks in Kent, RSPB reserves or London parks. We take a leisurely walk in each location, binoculars at the ready, finishing with a welcome coffee stop.
We meet at each location at 10.00 a.m., or at Orpington station if travelling by train, and generally complete our outing in two to three hours.
The group includes many knowledgeable and interested U3A birdwatchers and new members are most welcome. Several of our members are shown in the photo above during a visit to the RSPB Reserve in Rainham Marshes, Essex. We are always amazed at the variety of species we see, as no two visits are the same.
